Artist Statement

I use the camera to explore my childlike urges of seeing the world in a different way. My photography is the product of a direct visual experience using painted tubes to dissect the world. Because my photographs distort objects, interior spaces, human bodies and landscapes, the photographic information is ambiguous. By following this process, I create a unique canvas or photograph, almost like a painter. While a photograph refers to the external world, it is motivated by a person's internal urges, visions, imagination, and personal experiences.
